Junior CompThe FUEL junior golf programme runs regular junior competitions on courses which are designed for kids! We use a coloured teeing system which grows as children get longer off the tee and progress through the FUEL grading system.  In total, we have 7 different coloured tees to enable juniors of all abilities to play on the course no matter how far they hit it or their experience level.

Our competitions are for children aged from 5 to 16 years old to play in and are organised by Thomas Devine and our Junior Organiser, Phil Smith. There are no special dress codes, they don’t need to be a member, they don’t need a handicap, and we can even lend them some clubs if they don’t have their own. All we require is a parent/carer accompanies them around if they have little playing experience or are under 13 years old.

Competitions cost £3 to play in and we currently run 2 forms of competition at Oulton Hall.

  • Our Sunday 5 Hole Competitions are designed to provide ALL children with initial on course competition experience.  These are run with very specific, appropriate length holes, which will allow your child to play holes that are the correct length for their current skill level.   As a guide, the 5 hole competitions are most appropriate for children who have just passed or are working towards their black or green grading.
  • Our Saturday 9 Hole Competitions are designed for children with a slightly higher skill level that would suit playing more and also longer holes.  These competitions are played from longer and more challenging red and yellow tees around holes 19-27 at Oulton Hall.  Again, as a guide, the 9 hole competitions are most appropriate for children who have passed or are working towards at least their blue grading.

If you are unsure about which competition is most appropriate for your child, please contact FUEL Golf Junior Programme Director, Thomas Devine, on tdevine@qhotelsgolfacademies.co.uk
